TVBS歡樂台於1994年9月12日開播。全頻道播放音樂、流行、戲劇、娛樂、卡通、體育等多樣而豐富的內容。
1994年8月15日，TVBS「娛樂新聞」開播，首創以新聞播報方式呈現綜藝娛樂相關新聞，引領風潮。
TVBS entertainment channel commenced
broadcasting on September 12th, 1994. The channel exclusively
presents music, fashion, dramas, entertainment, cartoons,
sports and other rich and diverse programming. On August
15th, 1994, the "TVBS Fashion News" program
began broadcasting, bringing viewers entertainment news
in a professional news format, leading the way for others
to follow. |

TVBS歡樂台製播大型晚會的經驗深受好評，如金曲獎頒獎典禮（1998年第9屆、1999年第10屆、2000年第11屆）、金馬獎頒獎典禮（1999年第36屆、2002年第39屆、2003年第40屆、2004年第41屆）、台北市跨年晚會（1998年∼2001年，2005年~2008年），其中「2008臺北最HIGH新年城」跨年晚會的收視率更高達3.24，創下跨年晚會收視率的最高紀錄。「2005高雄海跨年演唱會」也打破高雄歷年參加人數記錄。此外，2006華眾曲寵華語金曲榜頒獎典禮、知名歌手戶外演唱會，都由TVBS-G主辦，在在顯示TVBS-G高品質的製播能力。

Melody Awards (The 9th in 1998, the 10th in 1999, and
the 11th in 2000), the Golden Horse Awards (the 36th in
1999, the 39th in 2002, the 40th in 2003, and the 41st
in 2004), the Taipei City New Year Event (1998-2001, 2005
to 2008), and the rating of 2008 Taipei City New Year
program reaches to 3.24. It is the new record for new
years’ countdown program. And the 2005 Kaohsiung-Ocean
Star New Year Event broke attendance records. Furthermore,
the 2006 Golden Top Hits Awards Presentation, as well
as numerous outdoor concerts by famous musicians were
all produced by TVBS-G, underlining our strength in production
